Early Childhood Data Infrastructure

Every state has early childhood data.
ECDataLab helps them act on it.

We build analytic capacity inside government agencies — not just data systems. Through expert coaching and cross-state cohort learning, we help government teams turn integrated data into decisions that improve outcomes for children and families.

Our Focus

We build the human capacity to use data — not just the infrastructure to store it. Agencies at any stage of integration can benefit.

Our Method

Expert coaching, structured cross-state cohorts, and asynchronous learning — designed for government agency teams with limited bandwidth.

Our Model

Analytics co-developed inside our cohorts respond to real policy questions — delivered as actionable tools, not static reports.

Our Reach

A national nonprofit working across multiple states simultaneously — sharing knowledge and methods, not just within them.

What is early childhood integrated data?

Early childhood data includes records from programs like child care, home visiting, Head Start, state pre-K, and others. Integrating early childhood data allows agencies to see, in aggregate, how children and families are being served across programs — revealing patterns that siloed data makes invisible.

With integrated data, agencies can understand which program combinations lead to the strongest outcomes, direct resources to communities where they'll have the greatest impact, and make the case for continued investment with real evidence. ECDataLab helps government agency teams build the capacity to do exactly that.

Impact

From the field

"The ability to work both with people from my state and with partner states going through the same thing was invaluable in terms of idea generation and clarification around goals and processes."

Our Programs

Two pathways. One goal.

ECDataLab programs meet government agency teams where they are — whether you're building analytic readiness or co-developing tools that respond to active policy priorities.
